About kiri gardens
Born from a passion for plants and horticulture
Kiri Gardens was founded on a fascination with plants and the transformative possibilities of green spaces. My journey began with the purchase of my first modest home—after years of renting apartments, I finally had an outdoor space where I could grow, design, and experiment.
Over several years of hands-on practice, I realised that professional horticulture and garden design was my true vocation. This led to the creation of Kiri Gardens, dedicated to homeowners and businesses seeking a high level of specialist care and meticulous attention for their outdoor spaces.
I am often asked where the name comes from. Kiri draws from two rich traditions: in ancient Sumerian—the cradle of civilization—Kiri translates to ‘garden’ or ‘fruit orchard’, reflecting an ancient connection to cultivated land. In Japanese, Kiri refers to the Empress tree (Paulownia tomentosa), an homage to Japanese garden craftsmanship and one of my favourite botanical species.
